There are no 5th grade classes at this campus. All 5th grade classes are held at the intermediate schools within Keller ISD.
Build a starter kit of fifth grade school supplies and add to it as needed before the school year begins.
The fifth grade teachers at Lone Star Elementary will typically update their school supplies list on a yearly basis, we
try to update this list accordingly however we advise you to check with your child's fifth grade teacher and double check with the school, Lone Star Elementary, to see if there have been any changes to this year's fifth grade supply list.
A couple of things to keep in mind when ordering your fifth grade supplies, comsumable school supplies tend to run out long before the school year ends so take advantage of the back to school
offers and stock up on the basic supplies, your child's fifth grade teacher at Lone Star Elementary will thank you for that, and more importantly, your child's presence is the most important thing, the supplies are fifth to that and your teacher will
be more than understanding if you are unable to purchase all of the supplies on the list. Have a wonderful, safe and happy school year!
One of the most important pieces of information for you every school year is the Keller Isd District Academic Calendar. There, you will find your child's schedule for the entire school year including holidays, staff development days, half days, testing days, fifth and last day of school, etc. See the calendar for Keller Isd below.
Effective April 17, Governor Abbott closed schools for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. Given this information, Keller ISD will take the following steps to finish out the year, as well as work to intentionally and safely reopen this summer and for the 2020-21 school year. All steps below are dependent on the phase-in policy outlined by the Governor.
Current academic learning will continue on our set instructional calendar. The last day of school is May 21.
Graduation will officially be moved from May 23 to June 26-29 at Globe Life Field in Arlington. The specific dates each high school will graduate is yet to be determined, but will be communicated soon. This change was made as an alternative to the original back-up plan to move Graduation to July 25 at Dickies Arena. Additionally, an alternative photo opportunity will be provided in May for those students or families who are unable to attend the ceremony at Globe Life Field or who are not comfortable participating in an event with that many people.
All Prom activities have been canceled for this year.
All Credit Recovery and Extended School Year services for special education students are currently being planned for online learning this summer. If we are able to open schools and have classes with small numbers of students this summer, we will make the appropriate adjustments at that time.
An open campus day, dependent on the phase-in policy set forth by the State of Texas, is currently being planned for each school this summer. This is a day for kids and teachers to pick up items left in the buildings or return items back to the school. Each campus will create their plans with dates pending. This activity will be voluntary, controlled, and heavily monitored.
Schools will be ready to reopen as planned on August 19 for the 2020-2021 school year. As the summer progresses, if there is a change in guidance from the county or state, we will make the appropriate adjustments.
The Curriculum & Instruction team has been working on curricular adjustments for the start of the 2020-21 school year to accommodate for any lost learning that may have occurred during the spring closure. We will be ready to take care of our kids, regardless of where they are academically.
